I have know that churches are dying etc but it is sad reality and when you begin to see a town where where there is a real possibility in a few years time that there will be no church in that town!
You can try new ideas and ideas can be forced upon by denonimations head offices. But there needs to be a real breathing in of life into the valley of bones which are DEAD! The questions I need to ask my self as I cannot answer for anybody else -

Am obedient to God?

Am I allowing his Spirit to move through me and hear what he says.

Do I listen to others & hear what they have to say?

Am I prepared to work with others not for my selfish gain but rather for the common good of believers?

Phil thanks for this.

I see many churches who are asking these questions.
Its a time for rest and reflecting then getting on with the work.

God rested after 6 days work.
Man' first work was to rest after he was made.

Now if we rest and reflect first theres a good chance that what we do is more focussed and pertinent and blessed. If we just go out and do it we might need the rest and also relise its the wrong work.!!!

Spiritual formation churches do a lot of listening and reflecting.

Great point Phil, for really we cannot do anything for anyone else except ourselves, we can bear and aid one another, but we can never conform one another.

And when people do...They lord it over them Dictators.

Consenus business meetings speak more about attitude and obedience then we think!
